Petsitter needed for four medium-size dogs and two indoor-outdoor cats. We live ten minutes outside downtown Patzcuaro, a colonial town built on an important Purepecha indigenous principality. Enjoy the countryside and small adjoining town of Santa Ana Chapitiro as well as beautiful views of Lake Patzcuaro and Isla de Janitzio, mountains and valleys.

It's a five-minute walk to Santa Ana, where you can buy basic supplies, visit the beautiful old church, watch kids playing basketball, or catch a minivan ("combi") to downtown Patzcuaro or one of the villages surrounding the lake. Lake Patzcuaro is home to five inhabited islands, several of which you can see from the house's many north-facing windows and wraparound patio.

There are loads of great walks in the immediate area around the house. In September the open fields will be awash in pink cosmos. Beautiful! The fairly large yard is fenced so dog walks are appreciated but optional during your stay. If you do want to walk them, Quique, my older dog, will stay home and you can walk the others one or two at a time. Doesn't have to be every day.

The one-story, four-year-old home has an open-plan living and dining room, with fireplace; kitchen, art studio, laundry room and two bedrooms, two bath, one with bathtub. Large picture windows throughout means lots of natural light and excellent views from the art studio, two outdoor patios, living and dining rooms, and bedrooms. Excellent, new, fiber-optic internet service, smart TV with Netflix/Apple/Pluto, as well as Mexican cable TV

Dogs are Quique (male, 11 yo), JoJo (female, 5 yo), Betty (female, 4 years old), and Paco, who will be a year old in September. (You can celebrate his birthday!). Two friendly but independent cats are Teo and Sandy.

Responsibilities

The ideal petsitter (single person, couple, or two friends) would be people who obviously like animals and want to be at home at least part of the day. In addition to the pets, caretaker must look after the yard, tho it should be raining in the afternoons and therefore only a few potted plants would need to be watered. Reliable gardener (English-speaking) and maid (Spanish only but she knows what to do) once a week will take care of home and garden maintenance. Bills and utilities will be paid ahead, and money left to pay maid and gardener.
