Oct 6 – 26 in Tepoztlán—The Beautiful "New Age" Destination, Near Mexico City!
Tepoztlan, Mor, Mexico
Our home is on the western outskirts of Tepoztlan in Morelos within walking distance (downhill) to the Centro (about 25 minutes). There are taxis and 'combis' for return trips which can leave you at the entrance of our driveway. We have a spacious garden with a pool surrounded by trees and a roofed area by the pool for relaxation. The palapa (in the photo) is now gone and there is now a more spacious area. All private. We are secure here with a porton that is well protected and an intercom outside and security cameras. There is covered parking for 2 cars and space for guest parking.
The main house has 2 bedrooms (upper large main bedroom with a small balcony) and 2 large bathrooms. There is a guest house with an attached bathroom in the garden by the upper terrace. There is a spacious front hall and dining area along with a medium sized kitchen with essentials and appliances including a small dishwasher. Also a washer/dryer and clothes line in the back patio. The living room is on a lower level and is ample. The upper story also has an office for computer work - off the main bedroom.
We have 3 elderly dogs (2 small, 1 medium) and a 4 year old female dog (medium and sometimes lively). One of our small dogs is almost 18 and getting frail so uncertainty about him by October. There are 2 outdoor cats - all are very easy to care for. Dogs are fed once a day (noon) with treats in the mornings and evenings. The cats get a bit of tinned food in the evening and need to be fed outside in the garage at weekends with dry food kept there.The 3 older dogs range in age from 10 - 18 and the cats are about 6-7 years old. We have 2 local vets for emergencies. We also have local people and the gardener who will stay overnight or feed the pets if you go away or are out for the day.
Our weekly gardener takes care of the garden and pool on Fridays and a cleaning woman comes weekly. Both are totally reliable and honest. Their payment will be covered by us. The gardener works on other properties nearby during the week so is always available if any issues arise. We have a dog walker who comes 3 mornings a week.
We have full telephone and WiFi service (fibre optic). Cell phone with Telmex is not very good as the tower is at the other end of town but AT &T provides decent service. We also have TV station that offers U.S., Canadian, BBC - Netflix also available.

Responsibilities
To feed our dogs once a day (noon) and the cats twice a day at weekends and once a day with tinned food in the evenings. Mainly give our pets lots of love and attention - they are all very affectionate. They are well trained and very easy to care for. The youngster is limproving! Our garden is big enough for regular exercise. There are some trails nearby where we sometimes walk the dogs. (the dog walker can show the area if interested). The local vets are very good and available for emergencies etc.Photos

Additional Information
CuernAds is a free service that one can enter into - gives a lot of local information re exhibits, restaurants, reunions, events etc.Tepoztlan is a Pueblo Magico that is very busy at weekends with lots of stalls offering artisan items. It is generally quiet during the week with market day on Wednesday, although fresh fruits, chicken etc., are available all week long. Most groceries can be found in town with the market and the small supermarkets There are speciality shops in Ixcatepec including a good liquor store that will deliver.
There is a downtown clinic which is often used for local emergencies and a very good GP (Maria Elena) about a 10 minute drive away. .
Cuerrnavaca is only 1/2 hour drive from Tepoztlan - and has many large supermarkets and other stores for some items that may be hard to find in Tepoztlan. There are also regular buses to Cuernavaca - and to Mexico City (from the gasoline station).We have a local taxi driver who is totally trustworthy if needed.
Tepoztlan is about 50 miles from Mexico City.
