9-12 Days in October (Flexible) in the Pueblo Magico de Cholula

Please note that I haven't finalized my October departure and return dates just yet. I'm hoping to find someone or a couple with a little flexibility around those dates, as I'd love for you to arrive at least one day before I leave. That gives us time to get to know each other, walk through the apartment together, introduce you to the neighbourhood, and, most importantly, allow Gweneviere to meet you before I'm away.
You'll be sharing the apartment with my family member, Gweneviere, a ten-year-old tuxedo domestic shorthair. She's been with me through many moves over the years, and my goal is for her to remain happy and relaxed in the home she knows. She generally enjoys meeting new people, although she sometimes prefers to make friends at her own pace. I'll leave detailed care instructions separately. This section is simply to help you picture where you'll be staying.
My home is the lower of two apartments in a quiet residential building in San Pedro Cholula, located above the garage. It includes two bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, an unfurnished rear balcony, and access to a simple rooftop terrace. It's not luxurious, but it's one of my favourite places to enjoy the views of the nearby volcanoes and the Sanctuary while having a morning coffee or watching the sunset. There's also space to hang laundry if needed.
The house is intentionally simple. There isn't a television, so this is very much a "bring your own device" home. Fast, unlimited WiFi is available throughout the apartment and balcony, although the signal doesn't quite reach the rooftop.
I'll make sure there's an extra garrafón of drinking water waiting for you, and you'll find clear instructions for everything in the apartment, including the backup gas water heater, which you may need after several cloudy days in a row if the solar water heater hasn't been able to fully recharge.
The property has a secure front gate, which I ask that you keep locked whenever you come and go. There is one dedicated parking space available if you have a vehicle.
Access to the apartment requires one flight of stairs. If you'd like to water the rooftop plants during your stay, you'll go up another flight of stairs to the neighbouring patio and then one spiral staircase to reach the roof.
The apartment is located in the Barrio de Jesús Tlatempa, one of Cholula's traditional neighbourhoods.
Everything you'll likely need is within easy walking distance. A shopping centre with a supermarket, Sam's Club, restaurants, fast food, a cinema, and other shops is about a 15-minute walk away. The base of the Great Pyramid of Cholula is about 20 minutes on foot, making it easy to explore the cafés, markets, and historic centre whenever you'd like. There's are two local nearby markets for fresh fruit, meat, dry goods, etc.
If you'd like to visit downtown Puebla, it's about a 30-minute trip by Uber or Didi. Public transportation is also straightforward, with the RS-25 combis (the pink minibuses) stopping nearby and taking you to within a short walk of the city's beautiful Zócalo.
Above all, I hope you'll feel at home here. My apartment is comfortable rather than fancy, and if you enjoy a quiet neighbourhood, good walking access, reliable internet, and the company of a sweet cat, I hope you'll enjoy your stay as much as I enjoy living here.
Gweneviere has a simple daily routine. She receives both wet and dry food each day. Because she occasionally has digestive issues, her wet food also needs a little water and a daily dose of her laxative, which I'll have prepared with clear instructions.
She should always have fresh drinking water available, and her water fountain should be topped up as needed. Her litter box uses clumping litter and should be scooped at least twice a day, ideally once in the morning and once before bedtime.
She's an affectionate cat once she gets to know someone. She may be a little reserved at first, but patience is usually rewarded with a lap companion. She also enjoys interactive play, and I'll show you her favourite toys and routines before I leave.
I'll leave the apartment clean and ready for your stay, and I'd appreciate returning to it in a similarly clean and tidy condition.
If you'd rather not worry about cleaning during your stay, I can arrange for a trusted cleaning person to visit for a reasonable fee. Otherwise, you'll find cleaning supplies, a broom, mop, and other essentials in the service area off the kitchen.
There are a handful of plants in the apartment and on the rooftop that will need occasional watering with tap water. On particularly windy days, the plants in the service area should be moved to the floor to prevent them from blowing over.
Household garbage is collected on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings. I'll explain exactly where to leave it before I go, so it's an easy part of the routine.
I'd appreciate occasional updates and a few photos of Gweneviere during my trip so I know she's happy and doing well.
In addition to my contact information, I'll leave you with phone numbers for my landlady, a trusted cleaner, Gweneviere's veterinary clinic, and internet support, along with clear instructions for handling anything unexpected. I don't expect emergencies, but I do believe in being well prepared.

One of the things I love most about living here is how easy it is to experience both historic Mexico and modern city life.
Within Walking Distance
- The Great Pyramid of Cholula (20 minutes on foot) – the world's largest pyramid by volume, topped by the beautiful Santuario de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios.
- The lively cafés, restaurants, artisan shops, and plazas of central San Pedro Cholula.
- A shopping centre (15 minutes on foot) with a supermarket, Sam's Club, restaurants, cinema, and other everyday conveniences.
Easy Day Trips
- Puebla City (about 30 minutes by Uber, Didi, or public transit) is a Historic Centre of Puebla and is famous for its colonial architecture, Talavera pottery, museums, churches, and outstanding food.
- Val'Quirico (about 30-35 minutes by car) is a picturesque Tuscan-inspired village filled with cafés, restaurants, boutiques, and beautiful streets that are perfect for wandering.
- Atlixco (about 40-45 minutes by car) is one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos, known for its colourful streets, flowers, mountain views, and excellent cafés.
